A lamp-lit living room at night: a black cat sits on the coffee table beside a glowing laptop

Clap twice. Your Mac sleeps.

A tiny menu bar app for macOS. Two claps from across the room, and it's good night.

How it works

From clap to good night

  1. Two claps

Sharp, half a second apart. Heard locally on your Mac, never recorded.

  2. A gentle check

A small card counts down. Press Esc to cancel, Return to sleep right away.

  3. Lights out

The cat curls up and your Mac drifts off.

The ClapNap cat, unimpressed by movie applause

Applause won't stop your movie

ClapNap notices when a video is playing. A clap in the soundtrack only raises the question card, and the card cancels itself. Your film keeps rolling.

Listening hours you choose

Pick when ClapNap may listen. Bedtime, a lunch nap, several windows at once, even across midnight.

9:00 PM to 7:00 AM12:00 to 2:00 PM

The mic sleeps too

Outside your hours the microphone is fully off. No orange dot, nothing heard. While it listens, audio is analyzed live in memory, never stored, never sent anywhere.
